Because life can take an unexpected turn, it’s good to know you’re covered. Insured by Prudential, our life insurance program offers protection for your family in the event of your death or serious injury. Smiths Group provides basic life coverage for all eligible employees equal to
1x eligible wages.

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

When an accident or illness keeps you from working for an extended period of time, it is important to have a continuing source of income. That is why Smiths Group offers you long-term disability coverage, insured by Prudential and designed to replace a portion of your income if you cannot work. You elect the coverage and pay the premiums, but the benefits are not taxable.

Financial

401(k)

You may contribute to the Smiths Group Incentive Savings Plan 401(k) Plan and receive matching contributions from the Company. Unless part of a legacy agreement, the Company will match 50% on the first 6% of your basic pre-tax contributions each pay period. You do NOT receive a Company match any other contributions you make.

Savings and Spending Accounts

You may save money on health care and/or dependent care expenses by enrolling in a before-tax Health Savings Account and/or Flexible Spending Account. Your FSA contributions will not renew automatically. You must re-enroll in your FSA(s) and elect contributions within 30 days of hire or during Open Enrollment each year.

Employer Retirement Contribution (ERC)

Depending on your business unit, you may be eligible for the ERC equal to a percentage of your pay from Smiths Group. The amount of the Company’s contribution is based your age as of January 1 of each year.
